Chapter 2 Sneak Peek #5: Levelling Up Arkana Dolls

Alchemica's combats are mostly a solo endeavor with Charlotte fighting solo. During the time we introduced Gloomlight Cemetery to the game, we also added a new combat aspect to the game: Arkana Dolls. The first doll, The Fool, can be obtained there, and when equipped it provides limited protection against damage. It serves as a teaser for things to come as we will introduce more Arkana Dolls to the mix in Chapter 2.

Arkana Dolls will work as passive companions for Charlotte as she embarks on her journey, each with their own unique ability and usefulness. Charlotte will be able to choose which doll she wants to carry by switching them through her drawer at home as she can only carry one inside her inventory at any given time. After selecting the doll, she must equip it manually from her inventory for the effect to be active.

All of the Arkana Dolls will start at level 1 when Charlotte obtains them. Chapter 2 will introduce a way for Charlotte to level up her growing doll collection, with the inclusion of Arkana Cards. These rare items can be obtained randomly from chests inside a dungeon. They cannot be obtained (or duplicated) through gardening, or through Fighter's Guild inquiry, giving players more incentive to perform dungeon explorations and hunt for chests. Increasing a Doll's level will increase their stats, and at certain level, it will also alter their ability.

Collecting these cards might be hard, especially when the randomness are against you, so Olaff on Eagledeen's Market District will have a new service to help players exchange unused Arkana Cards with the one they don't have.

That is all for now on our sneak peek on Chapter 2. What do you think about the new changes? Feel free to submit ideas and suggestions to us, we will be very happy to hear any feedback from you. Until next time :)

Sincerely,

Crunchy Bit Games.

This seems interesting, but might add unwanted issues, because you already have to work with a very limited amount of space both on your inventory and your storage.

Coming soon :)

Nice,  very nice :)
