Chapter 2 Sneak Peek #45: Some Changes


Hello and welcome to another new sneak peek for Alchemica - Chapter 2.

This week we will be introducing some changes that will take effect once Chapter 2 update hits.

The first one is a change we made to infliction. We already showed the new Heat Stroke status on the last sneak peek , so now we are introducing damage over time during exploration .

With this change, Charlotte will slowly lose health of varying values while she is inflicted with either Poison, Plague, or Heat Stroke.  Poison will automatically be cleared out from her system if she only have a single health point remaining (exploration only, not during battle), but she will loose all health and faint when she is inflicted by the other status(es).

For the second change, we are overhauling how status and potion effects are displayed during exploration,


As you guys can see, there are now icons for each active status effect on the bottom screen of the game, complete with tool tips to display their meaning. The same icons will also be displayed when you are checking the Stats page inside the inventory menu. This way you guys can clearly track each status effect. 

Lastly, we will introduce a limit to how status and potion effect works. This change is made due to the plethora of new potions that will be introduced on the new chapter, combined with the enemies she will encounter on it. 

That being said, there are a maximum of FOUR infliction statuses (Poison, Plague, Confusion, etc.) that Charlotte can get at any time. This means that if somehow she is already poisoned, plagued, paralyzed, and confused (poor, poor Charlotte...), she cannot get burned. 

Regarding potions, there will be a maximum of FOUR different potions that can be in effect during exploration and battle. She is free to use the same potions over and over again (i.e.: chugging multiple ATK buff potions to increase its effects), but once she drinks a fifth type of potion, the oldest one will automatically gets dispelled.
