Chapter 2 Sneak Peek #32: First New Enemies!


Hello and welcome to this week's sneak peek of Alchemica - Chapter 2!

In last week's post, we said that we are moving to the next development task: adding new monsters. With that in effect, sneak peeks will be in a shorter format starting from today. 

Worry not, this is not because we are  spending less time in developing the game, but because there are a lot of behind the scene stuff to do in order to add a single monster to the game. In fact,  battle is the most difficult thing to develop in Alchemica, since we have to implement complex codes for the monsters to perform certain attacks, and once that is done we still have to balance things out with Charlotte's levels, stats, equipments, and items.

If you guys are worried that we will spoil too much before you can actually play the game, we are aware about it. We will be limiting what are shown in sneak peeks to just monsters' idle animation. There might be only 3 frames of animations per monster here, but in actuality we might have spent an entire week to draw 30+ frames, or maybe more! Boss' sprites will not be shown in any of the upcoming sneak peeks, so don't be afraid about that too. 

Due to those factors, sneak peeks will take a break every once a while (we will announce it if we regretfully have to do it!) when there are nothing worth sharing. We hope you guys understand and will keep following us until the eventual Chapter 2 release.

With that out of the way, here is the first two new monsters for Chapter 2: Rock Crab and Petit Kraken

These names are by no means final, so feel free to suggest names for them either here, on Discord, and or Facebook. We will be very happy to hear any feedback from you guys.
